Thomas Leupen ’62
Thomas Leupen ’62, alias “Abe Snake”, passed away on Sept 29, 2018. His Home-Going Celebration Service will be Sat, Oct 13th (10am) at Victorious Life Assembly of God in Lewisville, Tx. The Viewing will take place on Fri, Oct 12th (7pm) at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Tx. Tom was born Feb 9, 1940 in Detroit, MI & was a graduate of Hope College (1962) and Andrew Womack’s Charis Bible College (2013). He eloped with Gladys on July 26, 1964 & later had a church wedding on Nov 7, 1964. They were never divorced but married twice. He served in the Air Force for 4.5 yrs (’63-’68), worked at Ford Motor Co for 13 yrs (’68-’81), owned 2 Baskin-Robbins for 7 yrs (’81-’88), was a Financial Advisor with Northwest Mutual Life for 10 yrs (’88-’98), Pastored a church for 5 yrs (’98-’03), was a Marketing Rep for Direct To Your Door Advertising for 12 yrs (’99-’11) and was a missionary for 5 yrs (’13-’18). He had an uncanny ability to make people laugh & to make friends wherever he went. His hobbies included loving his wife of 54 years, trolling the Costco aisles, perusing Subaru & Honda dealerships, watching Hallmark movies & warning ladies to be aware of “Pretty Boy Floyds”. He is remembered by his wife, Gladys Leupen, his children Debbie (Woody) Wood, Derek (Tammy) Leupen, Leslie Leupen, Teresa (Todd) Williams and his grandchildren Lauren Marie (Jacob) Preston, Katie & Blake Wood; Kristen, Charles, Dennis & Megan Leupen; Johnathan & Noah Williams. His beloved siblings are Jerry (Sandie) Leupen, Doug (Linda) Leupen & Wendy (Jay) Lee. He is also remembered by his honorary children & grandchildren Anita Joseph (Kaitlin Mundadan) and Mary Hershberger (Ella, Lena, Jake, Sam, Dan & Junior Hershberger). He was man who loved the Lord, loved his family & had a passion for truth.
