Daniel Ogden ’64
Daniel Ogden ’64, age 76, husband of Sharon Ogden, of Phoenixville, PA, entered eternal life on Monday, September 17, 2018 in Paoli Hospital. Born on January 23, 1942 in Dumont, NJ, he was a son of the late Daniel and Eva (Lawrence) Ogden.
The Rev. Dr. Daniel Ogden graduated in 1960 from Dumont High School, Dumont, New Jersey. He was President of the Student Council, had the lead in the Operetta, Oklahoma and was a member of track team.
Rev. Dr. Ogden was a Minister of the Reformed Church of America and the United Church of Christ, and recently had been a helpful servant to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Phoenixville. He obtained his BA from Hope College in Holland, MI, and had received a Master’s of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New Brunswick, NJ, as well as a second Master’s of Divinity degree and his Doctorate of Ministry degree from the New York Theological Seminary in New York City.
The Rev. Dr. Daniel Ogden loved to sing and had a beautiful, strong voice. He ended many of his sermons with a hymn or spiritual song. He also loved the Long Beach Island.
Rev. Dr. Ogden is survived by two children, Deborah M., wife of Jonathan Ditmars of Lansdale, PA and Daniel P. Ogden of Haskell, NJ; and three grandchildren, Dana Ogden, Nicholas Ogden, and Haley Kempf.
