Kierun Givens ’93

Kierin Givens, beloved mother, daughter and sister, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 8, 2023, after a one-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Kierin was dearly loved by her three teenage children, Jack, Sam and Ally Caldwell. She enjoyed spending time with them on family vacations, going to family Christian camp in Wisconsin, playing various board games at home, and watching movies. All of these activities were precious family time for her. She never missed a recital, sports event or school program for her children. She also enjoyed attending church with her children.

Besides her three children, Kierin is survived by her parents, Robert and Connie Givens of North Andover, MA, her sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Dan Rice of San Antonio, TX, their two children, Caleb and Luke Rice, her boyfriend, Matt Hesketh, and Brian Caldwell, her former husband.

Kierin was born in Denver, CO. She graduated from Hope College in Holland, MI with a degree in Psychology and earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Gordon Conwell Seminary in Massachusetts. She most recently worked for Riverbend in Concord, NH as a Child and Family Therapist. Her young clients loved her for her caring attitude, her engaging personality and her professional excellence.

Kierin had a beautiful smile and a wonderful sense of humor that was endearing to all who knew her, including her many wonderful friends from Andover where she grew up, her college friends from Michigan and all her colleagues with whom she worked. She literally lit up the room with her style and personality.
