Darin Crask ’00

Darin Wallace Crask, 44, of Seneca, passed away Sunday June 11, 2023 at his home.
He was born September 19, 1978, in Ottawa, IL, to Dennis and Deborah (Hovious) Crask.
Darin attended Ottawa Township High School and graduated in 1996. He was a member of the OTHS football team that was inducted into the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame. He attended Hope College, where he played on the football team, and he received his bachelor’s degree in criminology. He began his police career on the Marseilles Police Department, where he was a K9 handler and worked with his dog, Ory. Darin worked for the Seneca Police Department before becoming Lostant Chief of Police and K9 Officer with his dog, Ika. On May 9, 2018, he became the Chief of Police in Earlville. He served as a law enforcement officer for over twenty-three years. Being an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting duck, geese, and deer.
He is survived by a daughter, Lexi Crask of Seneca; his parents, Dennis and Deborah of Maryville, TN; Lexi’s mother, Brandy Crask of Marseilles; his brother, Daniel (Andrea) Crask of Maryville; and his nieces and nephews, Garrett, Charlie, Reagan, and Ainsley Crask.
