Lillian Stegenga ’51 Rooks

Lillian was born in North Holland to Dick andMaggie (Deur) Stegenga. She metWendell Rooks while attending Hope College and they were married for 73 years. They enjoyed many years of retirement in Conyers, GA before returning to Holland.

Lillian was a member of Graafschap CRC, and formerly a member of Prospect Park CRC and Smyrna Presbyterian Church in Conyers.

Lillian is survived by her husband, Wendell Rooks and children: Tom (Becky) Rooks of Topeka, KS, Linda ( John) Workman of Chattanooga, TN, Jim (Arda) Rooks of Holland, Charles Rooks of Atlanta, GA, Kathie (Mike) Bamsey of Conyers, GA; 19 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by nine siblings.
