Ruth Koop ’49 Yeomans

Ruth Yeomans, age 95, of Holland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Holland Hospital following a brief illness.

She was the daughter of Harry and Jennie Koop. Ruth was a life-long member of Fourteenth Street Christian Reformed Church where she was involved in numerous ministries and activities.

Ruth graduated from Holland Christian High School and Hope College. She worked as a social worker after college. On August 15, 1951, she married Jack Yeomans, her husband of 54 years. She later became a full-time mother of three daughters. Ruth was active in the Woman’s Literary Club and at the Holland Aquatic Center with the “Aqua Belles” group. She enjoyed attending Hope College basketball games, traveling, maps, and spending time with family and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Laurie (Mark) Kramer of Portland, OR, Jennifer  ’77 “Ginger” (Chuck) Reece of Greenville, SC, Jackie Yeomans of Holland; grandchildren, David, Jon, and Emily Reece, and Steven Kramer.
