Calvin Boer ’67

Calvin Paul Boer, age 79 of Holland, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at home.
Cal was born in Holland September 18, 1944 to Peter and Amy (Kuipers) Boer and was a lifelong resident of the area. A graduate of Holland Christian High School, Cal would continue his studies at Hope College, earning a Bachelor’s Degree. He was the Owner/Operator of Boers Transfer and Storage until his retirement in 2000. Cal was a volunteer fireman for the Holland Township Fire Department for over 40 years. In his spare time, he could be found cheering on Hope College Athletics, tending to his Quarter Horses, or enjoying his love for animals. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Cal is survived by his wife Karen ’70 of 52 years; children Kristin (Matthew) Stargardt, Amy (Matthew) Harper ’95, Andrew (Erin) Boer, and Timothy Boer; grandchildren, Ethan, Madelyn, Adam, Austin, Ryann, Eden, and Eila; many extended family and friends.
