Amy DeVries ’90 Ritsema

Amy Ritsema, age 55 of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed into her eternal home on Thursday August 17, 2023. Amy was born on January 26, 1968, to Father, Edward J DeVries of Crossville Tennessee and Mother, Joan Lieffers DeVries of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Amy was preceded in death by Joan and Ray Lieffers, Maternal Grandparents, John, and Eve Devries, Paternal Grandparents, both of Holland Michigan. Amy is survived by her parents, her Daughter, Leah Ritsema of Grand Rapids, Son Benjamin Ritsema ’20 of Grand Rapids, Husband Charles Schouman of Spring Lake, Michigan, Stephanie Schouman of Portland Oregon, Daughter of Charles, Laura Schouman of Ann Arbor, Daughter of Charles, Brother Gregory DeVries and Sister-in-Law Melinda DeVries of Grand Rapids.

Amy was an entrepreneur at heart and was the co-founder and co-owner of OnSite Wellness in Grand Rapids Michigan. She spent the majority of her career focusing on health, fitness, and overall wellness of the partners she served. She was a graduate of Hope College with a Degree in Exercise Physiology and a minor in business management. Amy was known as a devoted mother to Ben and Leah, spending countless days at swimming events, the baseball fields, soccer fields, and basketball games. Amy was heavily involved in her community, serving on many committees both in the greater Holland / Zeeland areas, as well as Grand Rapids after relocating there.
