Suzanne Radliff ’65 Sather

August 01, 1943 May 02, 2021 Memorial Donation Suzanne Patricia Radliff Sather, born August 7, 1943, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 2, 2021, of leukemia. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Arne Sather, beloved daughters Charlotte Sather Davis and Victoria Rebecca Sather, cherished granddaughter Bellatrix Amelia Davis, her sister Nancy, and many nieces and nephews. Suzanne was born on August 7, 1943 in Scotia, New York. She attended Hope College in Holland, MI, and received her Doctorate in Theatre from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She married Lawrence Arne Sather, of Washington, on June 13, 1971. Suzanne taught at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA from 1969 to 1971, at Midland College in Fremont, NE from 1977 to 1987, and was adjunct faculty at Skagit Valley Community College in Mt. Vernon, WA until her retirement. Long involved with community theatre in Nebraska, she wrote and directed several plays throughout her career. She was also a strong and effective advocate for the rights of children with special needs. Suzanne was known for her wit, sense of humor, and kindness. A loving mother and wife, she made sure to pass on her fierce independence and the value of women supporting each other to her family. During their 50-year marriage, she was an irreplaceable partner to Lawrence. To the rest of her extended family, she was always an intelligent and thoughtful voice, full of compassion, with an appreciation for every individual
