Marcia Baldwin ’60 De Jong
Marcia Baldwin ’60 De Jong passed peacefully into heaven at age 80 on March 30, surrounded by loving family and tremendous support staff at Brookhaven Estates.
Beloved wife of Richard Hoskey, and the late Peter DeJong, Marcia loved her family and wide circle of friends. She touched many lives as a career educator, holding positions as an elementary school teacher, and as a faculty member at Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw Michigan, and at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was a sports enthusiast, excelling in skiing, tennis, and golf.
She loved the outdoors, travelled extensively, and was deeply spiritual.
Her faith and family were constant sources of strength and focus, and she lived life to the fullest with a generous and loving spirit.
In addition to husband Richard, Marcia is survived by her sister, Jeannie Vanden Berg (husband Chuck); her sons, David (wife
Denise) and Peter (wife Susan) DeJong and their respective children Andrew, Alexandra, Eric, and Mitchell; and her extended family, Jay and Vickie Hoskey, Jeremy and Deborah Hoskey, Stacy and Debbie Hoskey, and their children and grandchildren.
