Merrie Bannink

Merrie Bannink, age 78, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

Merrie was married to Jack Bannink for 57 years and together they had four children who were her biggest passion. She had a master’s in counseling, taught at Holland Christian, and worked for Hope College for 22 years. She was a longtime volunteer at the Holland Free Health Clinic, Kids Hope, and Crossroads Prison Ministry. She participated in multiple mission trips and was an active member at Park Christian Reformed Church. She was loved and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy De Jong; and brother, Robert Mulder.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Bannink; daughter, Jilanne Bannink ’91 Misiewicz; son, Jeff ’93 and Marcia ’93  Bannink; son, Dan ’97 and Erin ’98 Bannink; daughter, Cindi Bannink ’99 and Steve Brandes; grandchildren, Cassie and Daniel Ault, Sadie Misiewicz, Camden Misiewicz, Janneke Bannink, Zane Bannink ’23, Johan Bannink, Lucy Brandes; sister, Marcia Handlogten; sister, Delores Thayer; brother, David Mulder; brother, Paul and Sheryl Mulder; brother-in-law, Rich and Chris (DeGroot) De Jong; sister-in-law, Gertrude Weening; and brother-in-law, Enbert Bannink.
