Marjorie DeKam ’75 Boerman

Marjorie DeKam Boerman, age 69, previously of Holland MI, passed away October 8, 2022 in Tinton Falls NJ.

Marjorie was born in Kalamazoo MI on September 21, 1953 to John and Ann ( Everts) DeKam. She graduated from Portage Central High School and Hope College. Marjorie started her broadcast career in 1976 at WHTC (Holland MI) as News Anchor; later positions withWHTC included Production Director and Associate News Director. Marjorie married Kevin Boerman ( b. Muskegon MI) in 1977. During her years in Holland, Marjorie became an award- winning quilter; she also excelled at knitting, crocheting and she was a superb seamstress. Marjorie attended CentralWesleyan Church, Holland and was a long-time volunteer at Holland Museum.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Kevin Boerman (d. 2007); she is survived by two sisters and their spouses: Joanne ( Larry) Woodward of FortMill SC and Patricia ’73 DeKam(Robert ’73) Zilinski of Highlands NJ; brother- in- law Kurt ( Laurie) Boerman ofMuskegon MI; 1 niece and 4 nephews.
