Esther Plumert ’56 Lampen
Ruth ( nee Huizenga) Post, born in Chicago, Illinois to Sam (Siert) Huizenga and Bertha ( nee Wezeman) Huizenga, passed away unexpectedly on November 7, 2021, in Holland, Michigan at the age of 91 years. Ruth is survived by her loving family: her four sons, Glen (Nina) Post of San Jose, New Mexico; Carl Post of Plainfield, Illinois; Keith ( Kathy) Post of Downers Grove, Illinois; Paul ( Gala Kempkers) Post of Holland, Michigan and her dearest daughter, Beth ( Nancy Ellerbroek) Post of West Olive, Michigan; and one brother-in-law, Corky DeHorn, and two sisters-in-law, Rita Post and Jennie Post. She was the proud grandmother of her eight grandchildren: Tori ( Michael) Sandoval of San Jose, New Mexico; Andy (Debra Bazan) Post of San Jose, New Mexico; Zach Post of Chicago, Illinois; Laurel Post of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Quinn Post of Warrenville, Illinois; AJ (Hannah Christian) Post of Cumming, Georgia; Hannah Post of Zeeland, Michigan; Ryan Post of Holland, Michigan; and her great granddaughter, Erin Post and great grandson, DJ Sandoval, both of San Jose, New Mexico. She was a beloved aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews and was dearly loved by many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Frank Post, whom she married on April 17, 1953; her brothers and their wives, Clarence (Marian) Huizenga; Harry (Martha) Huizenga; and her sisters, Ella Taylor and Grace DeHorn. Ruth is best remembered for her warm and engaging, generous nature and the relationships she developed through her love of family, friends, clubs, and activities.
She was a devoted daughter, loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, NovemWeber 17th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the chapel of GENEVA Camp & Retreat Center, 3995 Lakeshore Drive N, Holland, MI 49424 with a Celebration of LifeMemorial Service immediately following at 11:00 am.
