Daniel Foy ’20

Daniel Patrick Foy Daniel Patrick Foy, 26, of the City of Grosse Pointe, passed away Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021. He was born Sept. 2, 1995, in Ann Arbor, to David and Mary Foy. Daniel graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School in 2014. In 2019, he graduated with honors from Hope College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication with a minor in organizational leadership. Daniel was co-manager of the football team at Hope College and also was involved in a Bible study group. He worked as a video specialist in the communications and financial industry. Daniel was an eight-year heart transplant and stroke survivor. He was born with a congenital heart condition and treated at CS Mott Children’s Hospital, where the hospital staff became his second family. He loved all of them dearly and especially enjoyed being involved in fundraiser tailgates during his high school years to support Mott and the University of Michigan. Daniel conquered many challenges along the way with courage and determination, touching many hearts. Daniel loved all sports, especially football and hockey, with emphasis on the University of Michigan, Detroit Lions and Detroit Red Wings. He enjoyed his Fantasy Football team more than anything. He loved to travel and was especially attached to Seattle, where he visited his cousin, and Boston, where he visited a friend. He loved to spend time with family and friends and play cards and cornhole. He loved his dog, Moose, with all his heart. He is survived by his parents, David and Mary; sister, Emma Rose; and brother, Ian. A service will be held at a later date.
