Dwight Riemersma ’56
Dwight L. Riemersma, 83, of St. Joseph passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at his home.
Dwight was born Jan. 6, 1935, to Benjamin and Mildred (Mollhagen) Riemersma. He served his country in the Army National Guard. Dwight graduated from Hope College with a bachelor’s degree and was a school teacher for St. Joseph Public Schools, where he also coached junior varsity basketball and later served as varsity coach. Dwight moved to Florida for several years and upon return taught at Berrien Springs Public Schools and also coached basketball. Dwight was a monstrous fan of the University of Michigan, but his most important love was for that of his Lord and Savior, and that he would desire most to be remembered for his devotion to and love of Jesus Christ. He was an extremely kind man, who always had a smile on his face and something funny or thoughtful to say to his friends and acquaintances.
Dwight is survived by his special friend, Joan Bolman for over 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
