Mary Yeomans ’56 Hobeck
Mary Yeomans ’56 Hobeck, age 82, of Holland, passed away peacefully Monday, October 24, 2016 at Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Manchester, New Hampshire after living with Parkinson’s for 10 years.
Mary graduated from Holland High School and attended both Hope College in Holland and National Teacher’s College in Evanston. She was an elementary school teacher before doing what she loved best, being a stay at home mom. Mary was a member of Third Reformed Church in Holland. In earlier years, Mary found joy in being outdoors: playing tennis, bike riding, shelling at the beach, race walking for the Senior Olympics, and being with her family.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed. Mary is survived by her children, Carolyn and Patrick Scholten of Hudson, New Hampshire and Marianne and Paul Miller of Delray Beach, Florida; as well as 2 grandchildren, Jacob Andrew Scholten (15) and Joshua Edward Miller (14). Also surviving are sister-in-laws Barbara Hobeck and Ruth Koop ’49 Yeomans; several nieces and one nephew. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Edward Hobeck.
