Matthew Kuiper ’98

Matthew Kuiper ’98 of South Bend, Indiana, has been awarded the University of Notre Dame’s 2017 Shaheen Graduate Award, given annually to the university’s outstanding Ph.D. graduate in the humanities. He was recently appointed assistant professor of Islamic Studies at Missouri State University. His book, Da’wa and Other Religions: Indian Muslims and the Modern Resurgence of Global Islamic Activism, will be published by Routledge this fall.
