Stephan Currie ’98 and Karen Pirich ’98 Currie
Stephan Currie ’98 has been promoted to executive director of the Michigan Association of Counties. He had been serving as deputy director, where he has been leading MAC’s daily operations for five years, plus has spurred new initiatives such as CoPro+, a collaborative purchasing program for public entities. Founded on Feb. 1, 1898, MAC is the only statewide organization dedicated to the representation of all county commissioners in Michigan. Currie becomes the fourth, and youngest, executive director of MAC since Michigan shifted to a county commissioner form of county government in 1968. He and his wife, Karen Pirich ’98 Currie are extensively involved in Lansing-area philanthropy, aiding the Sparrow Foundation and St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, among others. They have four children and live in East Lansing, Michigan.
