Trisca Rutledge ’89 Beasley

Trisca (Rutledge) Beasley passed away unexpectedly alongside her parents Bruce and Leah Rutledge in a tragic car accident on Monday, September 12. Trisca was born to Bruce and Leah in Waldron, MI on February 25, 1967. Trisca had lived in Manchester, MI, and most recently was planning to reside in Freeport, MI following her soon retirement. She is survived by her children, Kendra Beasley and Joshua (Morgan) Beasley and dog Cora, as well as her siblings Todd Rutledge and Debbie (Brian) Spencer as well as nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Nathan Beasley and is joyfully rejoicing with him again now.

As described by her children and loved ones, Trisca was devoted, resilient, and generous. Trisca faced her share of hurt and heartache in this lifetime, and she didn’t let that get in the way of the impact she left here on this earth. She put everything she had into everything she did, whether that was offering weekend study halls for her AP students, extra practices in the off season for her team, or making sure her kids felt cherished, loved, and cared for.

Trisca enjoyed traveling and taking adventures with her family and friends. Some of her favorites include hiking out west in Wyoming, tasting the lobster of Maine, and returning to Disney World time after time.

Trisca attended Waldron High School ‘85 and went on to get a degree in secondary education from Hope College ‘89. Trisca worked for 21 years as a math teacher at Saline High School. In addition to showing up for students in the classroom, Trisca took an oversight position of the Math Club and coached volleyball at SHS for multiple seasons. Trisca also coached varsity volleyball at Manchester High School, including a historical regional title in 2018.

Trisca’s smile and laugh will not soon be forgotten, and her impact on her students, colleagues, and friends will remain forever.
