Donna Hoogerhyde ’56 Hakken

Donna R. Hakken, age 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, August 15, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bernard D. Hakken. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Ruth (Douglas) Roosien, John (Susan) Hakken, Daniel (Lynda) Hakken, Timothy (Kellie) Hakken, Matthew (Amy) Hakken, Mary (Seishi) Okamoto, Andrew (Cara) Hakken; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Donna was born in Grand Rapids to Cora and John Hoogerhyde. She attended Union High School and Hope College. Donna and her husband served the Lord as missionaries in the Philippines and in Reformed Churches in Michigan and Iowa. Donna was also a high school teacher in Iowa. Her greatest joy was her family.
