Brittany Buchholz ’16

Brittany Buchholz ’16 of Owosso, Michigan, died on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 at her home after her long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Monday, September 11, 2017 at Owosso First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Mike McDonald officiating. She was 23.

Burial will follow at Fremont Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Saturday from 6pm to 8pm and Sunday from 2pm to 8pm and on Monday at the church from 11am until the time of service. Brittany was born December 27, 1993 in Flint, the daughter of Kelly and Mary (Blight) Buchholz.

She graduated from Corunna High School, class of 2012 Valedictorian and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Magna Cum Laude from Hope College. Brittany enjoyed dance, music, cheerleading, color-guard, baking for and with others, as well as volunteering at Humane Societies and with her fraternity, A Phi O. Brittany was employed with Memorial Healthcare as a CNA and Patient Care Tech.

She is survived by her parents Kelly and Mary; brothers Justin and Evan Buchholz; grandparents Norman and Donna Blight; loving furry companions Toulouse and Duke as well as many other loving family members and friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents James and Georgiana Buchholz and cousin Ryan Buchholz. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to be used for the Shiawassee Humane Society and 4-H Dog Clubs.
