Robert W. Muilenburg ’55

Robert W. Muilenburg, 83, of Boonton Twp., NJ, formerly of Randolph, NJ, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 18th at 11:00am in the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005. Memorial visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. To share a memory or extend condolences, please visit www.codeymackeyfh.com.

Born in San Fernando in the Philippines to Cornelius Muilenburg and Anne Jackola, Robert was raised there until the family returned to the US prior to WWII. In the US he lived in Michigan and Ohio before settling in Randolph, New Jersey.

Mr. Muilenburg proudly served in the US Navy & Navy Reserve during peacetime, he was Honorably Discharged as a LT. Commander in 1980. Robert graduated with a Bachelor Degree from Hope College and a Masters in Journalism from Northwestern University.He had a long career in Public Relations, retiring from JCP&L in Morristown, NJ as the Vice President of Public Relations in 1994.

Bob will be remembered for his intense pride and devotion in his children and grandchildren and his constant love and support for his wife. He will be dearly missed

Surviving are his devoted wife of 62 years, Phyllis Wierenga ’55 Muilenburg; devoted children Pamela Dietz and Robert; a dear brother, David; loving grandchildren, Jessica, William, David, Matthew, Corrine and Jake.
