Rev. Jonathan James Hinkamp ’55

Rev. Jonathan James Hinkamp, 81, of Ticonderoga, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga.

Born in Niskayuna, New York, January 22, 1935, he was the son of the late Franklin and Edith (Dings) Hinkamp. Rev. Hinkamp was a man of God. He was a retired Minister of the Reformed Church of America, and served for 40 years as Pastor of the Flatlands Reformed Church of Brooklyn, NY.

He was a lifetime summer resident of Hague, before becoming a year round Ticonderoga resident in 2002. He enjoyed gardening, reading and loved his animals and pets. In addition to his parents, he was also pre-deceased by one daughter, Susan Hinkamp.

Survivors include his two children, Karen Hinkamp of Ticonderoga and Ronald James Hinkamp and his wife Misako Hinkamp of Oahu, Hawaii; one sister, Eloise Hinkamp ’51 (Gerard ’49) Van Heest of Holland, Michigan; and one granddaughter, Jasmyne Hinkamp. He is also survived by his beloved companion, Linda of Ticonderoga; and his Caregiver of seven years, Laurie Thatcher of Ticonderoga. There
