Nelis R. Bade ’49

Nelis R. Bade ’49, age 94, of Holland, passed away, Friday, September 9, 2016, in the Inn at Freedom Village.

He was born in Holland on Nov. 4, 1921.  Nelis was a lifelong resident of the Holland area who led a very active and productive life.  He retired after many years as a contentious stockbroker.

Nelis served in the United States Navy Air Corp during World War II, stationed in Guam. He was also a member of Hope Church.

Nelis was preceded in death by a loving son-in-law, Steven Taylor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne of 69 years; devoted father to his children, Dr. Craig and Amy Bade, Tom ’74 and Donna Hamilton ’74 Bade, and Dr. Shelly Bade; 4 grandchildren, Lindsey Bade, Thomas Bade, Gavin Bade, and Connor Bade; brother-in-law, Henry and Cindy Mass; nephews, nieces and cousins.
