Timothy Seise ’72

Timothy David Seise (Tim), age 74, of Jacksonville, FL, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Friday, June 21, 2024, after unexpected complications following a heart valve replacement. He leaves his wife of 44 years, Denise; his two sons, Erik P., his wife Lori and their two sons, Wesley and Edmond, of Tallahassee, FL and Trevor D., his wife Emily and their two daughters, Tessa and Tatum, of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his two brothers Jeffrey and wife Nancy of Waldwick, NJ and Donald and his wife Suzanne of Bedford, NH ; his eight nieces and nephews, Andrew Seise, Kevin Seise, Darren Seise, Lauren Eichenberg, Alex Seise, Elizabeth Seigle, Gabrielle Valcic, and Chloe Connell; and fourteen great nieces and nephews.
Tim was born in Hackensack, NJ on March 2, 1950, to the late Jerome Arthur and Mildred Lizette (Aspinwall) Seise. He grew up in Rochelle Park, NJ. After graduating from Hackensack High School in 1968, he went to Hope College in Holland, MI. There he received a BA in Political Science and Business Administration in 1972. He served in the United States National Guard from 1972 to 1978. He received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, focusing on Accounting and Taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, NJ in 1979.
In 1980, Tim married Denise Gloria Kuchta of Saddle Brook, NJ. In 1984, they moved with their two young sons to Jacksonville, FL. The plan was to only stay there a year before returning “home” to New Jersey. Although, Tim had several opportunities to return north, they never left Jacksonville. The whole family enjoyed life in Jacksonville.
Tim worked for Public Service Electric & Gas in NJ during his college years until 1980. He then began a 23 year career as a Professional Management Consultant with various consulting firms. He worked on several projects for the United Nations and the World Bank. His travels took him many places from most of the states and provinces in the United States and Canada to Abu Dhabi, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, England, Germany, Greece, Saudi Arabia, and several Caribbean Islands.
Tim “retired” from his world travels in 2003. He kept himself busy as a broker/realtor, adjunct professor at Virginia College, tax preparer and office manager during tax season, and substitute teacher for Duval County Public Schools.
In 2016 after filling a long term assignment in an elementary art class, Tim discovered he had a talent for drawing. He quickly advanced to painting with acrylic paint. After painting more pictures than he could mount on the walls, give as gifts, or donate to charity fund raisers, Tim began selling his paintings at a local arts and farmers market.
In 2019 when Tim was no longer working, he volunteered to provide child care for his first granddaughter. He had her three or four days a week from morning to late afternoon starting when she was three months old. Just before she began to walk, Denise retired to assist Tim in his most favorite of all his jobs. Two and a half years later, her sister joined her.
More important to Tim than any of his accomplishments and activities was his love for family, his immediate family and the families of his two brothers.
Tim planned and looked forward to family vacations with his sons and their families mostly in the Keys. He and Denise began holding “Grand Camp” where their grandsons would stay in Jacksonville without their own parents for several days. Of course this continued once the granddaughters came along. Holidays were family times either in Jacksonville or Tallahassee.
