Ronald Kronemeyer ’67

 When The Long Road Ends,” Dr. Ronald Jay Kronemeyer of Saugatuck, Michigan passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. His wife Marilyn of 60 years was by his side.

Ron was born in Overisel, Michigan on October 12, 1943, to Harold and Eleanor Kronemeyer. He spent 75 years of his life devoted to his passion for education; as a student, a scholar, a teacher, and a mentor which he loved all equally. Ron’s passion for higher learning took him far and wide on world travels which included mission work and continuous life learning, many adventures often with his treasured Marilyn along his side. These travels were complimented and balanced by his love for the tranquility of being a farmer his entire life. His final legacy the past few years were many hours spent on his family hobby farm with countless friends and family working along with him contributing to and experiencing the joy of a job well done. Ron loved his family, his friends, and life with a spirit that was admired by everyone that knew him and that his family strives for.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn ( Seinen) Kronemeyer; their children, Heidi ( Rob) Kolean, Derek ( Melissa) , Aaron ( Jennifer) Kronemeyer, and Aleah (Keith) Horstman; eight grandchildren: Christopher (Natalie) Kolean, Annika Kolean, Amber (Nick) Judd, Ryan (Samantha) Kronemeyer, Delaney (Alayna) Kronemeyer, Cecelia Kronemeyer, Graciela and Hayden Horstman and the first great-grandchild expected in May. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; Harold and Eleanor Kronemeyer, and sister; Beverly Kronemeyer.
