Nancy Malstrom ’61 Husisian
Nancy Malstrom Husisian, of Elmira, NY passed away at the Guthrie Corning Hospital on Friday, March 15 after a period of declining health. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Cynthia, and Jeffrey and Ingrid, her six grandchildren, Peter, Hadley, Katelyn, Eric, Jason and Andrew, and her loving partner, Thomas Seward. Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Leon, and her beloved daughter, Christine.
Born in Grand Haven, MI on January 27, 1940, she graduated from Hope College in 1961 with a Bachelor’s in History and earned a Master of Science in Education from Elmira College in 1968. Nancy taught elementary school in the Twin Tiers for many years before joining her husband in business. Nancy and Leon were the successful proprietors of the Magic Car Wash chain.
Nancy loved music and theater. She sang with Common Time, the Cantata Singers, and the Elmira Choral Society, and performed in local theater productions, including Elmira Little Theater. Nancy was devoted to her family and enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother.
