Michael “Mike” Grant, 74 of Cheboygan, passed away on May 27, 2024 at his home.
Mike was born on July 23, 1949 in Detroit, MI, the son of Richard and Gwen (Williams) Grant. In 1971, he received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Hope College, followed by a master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1973.
Mike became interested in science and the outdoors at an early age, and his dream job as a Chemist at the University of Michigan Biological State in Pellston allowed him to indulge these two passions for 23 years.
He enjoyed camping, canoeing, hiking and biking. Upon retirement he found new passions of native landscaping and watercolor painting.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Chris; sister, Barbara Fosmire of Marquette; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law and 9 nieces and nephews.
