Our beloved mother Lucretia Tahkofper Klenk passed away on Jan. 27, 2024 in Maplewood, MN at 89 years old. She was born on Nov. 2, 1934 to Schley and Daisey Tahkofper. Lucretia graduated from Hope College with a bachelor degree in education. She married a soldier, Richard Klenk from Fort Sill and moved to St. Paul, MN and raised six children. Lucretia retired from the State of Minnesota Indian Affairs Council. Lucretia enjoyed reading, pottery, traveling, collecting Native American dolls, and turquoise jewelry. She was always up for a good movie and popcorn, with her cat cuddled by her side.
Lucretia is preceded in death by her parents Schley and Daisey; brother Carl; Richard Klenk; son Brian.
She is survived by five children: Valerie, Janet, David, Deborah, and Patti; nine grandchildren: Sly, Jason, Willie, Nick, Rachel, Joe, Noah, Holly, and Kyle; along with many great-grandchildren.
