Ami Goding ’93

Ami Lavonne Goding (Nykamp), age 55 of Holland, unexpectedly entered the arms of God on June 20, 2022.

Ami, the oldest of five children, was born in Holland on January 16, 1967, and grew up in Hamilton. Ami attended Hamilton High School, and after graduating in 1985, she attended Hope College to earn a degree in nursing.

She proudly raised her sons Michael (Jordann) and Jeremy (Kristina) and was a deeply devoted and loving grandmother to Jenny, JJ, Asher, and Maddox.

In addition to her beloved children and grandchildren, Ami is survived by her longtime partner and true love, Jake DesArmo, grandmother Phyllis Loucks, mother Trudy Kleinheksel (Mike Bailey), brother Corey Nykamp (Tina), sister Valerie Kay (John), sister Miranda Calkins (Timothy), brother Roger, and stepsister Brandy Hafler (David).

The center of Ami’s universe were her grandchildren and her cat. She loved getting her nails done; however, she always jumped at the opportunity to go fishing or get muddy digging in the dirt with her grandkids.
