Thomas Henderson ’70

Tom was born January 5th 1949 in Dayton Ohio at Good Samaritan Hospital. Tom grew up in Dearborn Michigan and attended Hope College in Holland Michigan where he received a Bachelor’s of Science majoring in Chemistry in 1970. Tom then attended the University of Michigan medical school and received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1974. It was at U of M where he met his future wife Charlotte (Meyers) Henderson who was attending Nursing School. Tom and Char were married on July 21st 1973 in Troy Michigan. Tom specialized in Rheumatology and completed his fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1980. Tom and his family have lived in the Dayton area since 1987 and attended Centerville Community Church since 1988. Tom just recently retired from the Dayton Arthritis and Allergy Center LLC after 42 years of helping people heal. Tom has two sons, David J. Henderson married to Betty (Wilson) Henderson of Mount Prospect Illinois and William L. Henderson of Centerville Ohio. Tom’s parents James W. Henderson from Lima Ohio and Alieta (Pence) Henderson from Urbana Ohio proceeded him in death many years ago. Tom has three brother-in-laws and two sisters-in-laws, Joseph P. Meyers of Charleston South Carolina, James A. Meyers married to Renee LeVasseur of Clawson Michigan, and John L. Meyers married to Natalia (Susanto) Meyers of Kettering Ohio, and one grandson, Trent J. Henderson of Mount Prospect Illinois.
