Joyce Lambert ’72 Kievit

Joyce Ann Kievit, PhD, of League City, Texas and formerly of the greater Columbus, Ohio area passed away, December 9, 2022 at UTMB Health in League City. Joyce was born on August 12, 1950 to the late Berta and Goldie Lambert.
Joyce earned her PhD in American Indian History and Nineteenth Century American History at University of Houston. After graduation, she secured the Director of History- American Indian position at Arizona State University. She went on to teach classes at Grand Canyon University, DeVry University, and Colorado State University.
She treasured her family, friends, and dogs. Her thirst for knowledge was never quenched. She enjoyed weekly outings with her friends and giving her puppy belly rubs.
She is survived by her son, Timothy (Kerriann) and grandchildren: Matthew, Brittany, Taylor, and Makayla.She had 3 brothers Joe, Richard, and Berta.
