Randall Zomermaand ’72

Randall “Randy” D. Zomermaand, 70, passed away peacefully at home on December 24, 2020 in Tampa, FL with his family by his side.

Randy was preceded in death by his loving and faithful parents John and Gertrude Zomermaand, brother-in-law Mark Briggs, and nephew John Garth Zomermaand.

Randy is survived by his wife Debbie Zomermaand and three children; Caroline Zomermaand and Jacques and Adam Benbassat. Randy is also survived by six brothers and sisters, Nelda Briggs, Barb Wehrmeyer (Dan), John Zomermaand (Jan), Les Zomermaand, Conley Zomermaand (Patricia), and Mike Zomermaand (Barb), along with four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Throughout a career in banking and healthcare, Randy cast a wide net both personally and professionally always remaining loyal and generous. He enjoyed many passions in life including cycling, sailing, hunting, snow skiing, and car racing. More importantly, Randy’s philanthropy efforts included Meals on Wheels, Guardian Ad Litem, Big Brother, volunteering at local schools, and countless contributions to other community outreach programs.
