Adele Cramer ’58 Bozeman

Adele Bozeman was born in Muskegon Michigan on January 25, 1937. She was greeted by Jesus her savior in Heaven on September 21, 2019 at age 82. Adele was the eldest daughter of Arend F. and Della (Zuidema) Cramer, who are deceased. Her loving sisters are Jean (Paul Becker) and Coreen (Craig Porter).

She graduated Muskegon High School in 1954, and then attended Hope College. While at Hope College, Adele studied voice and was a member of the Hope College traveling choir. Her degree was in Elementary Education, graduating in 1958. Adele taught Lower Elementary (grades 1-4) at Muskegon Public School.

On June 19, 1959, after 4 years of courtship, Adele married beloved husband James Bozeman. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage. James has survived Adele. Adele’s memory is Jim’s “sunshine” for 64 years and counting. Her children Julie (David Stegink), Jeffrey (Christine Johnson) and Jill (Bruce Bustin) survive her. Adele’s cherished grandchildren are Carl James and Jacob Michael Bozeman, Michael Roland and Brendan James Bustin, Denver Reese Stegink and step grandchildren Stefan and Alex Johnson.

A loving Christian mother, teacher and homemaker, Adele was a remarkable frugal cook. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially family gatherings. Adele had a knowledge of all things green and growing and developed a foster home for African violets and interesting cactus. For many years, Adele enjoyed sewing and substitute teaching, but she especially taught at home. Her children are entwined with Adele’s fingerprints.

Adele was an accomplished member of Choir and played piano. She regularly attended Central Reformed, then Covenant Community Church RCA under the guidance of Pastor Mark Bush. Her last residence was Seminole Shores where James still resides.
