Mary Jan Weber ’89

Mary Jane Weber, Age 84, of Nashville, TN, passed away on November 7, 2018.

Born in 1934 in Pittsfield, MA, Mary Jane graduated from Portsmouth (OH) High School in 1952 and received a B.S. in Education from Hope College in Holland, MI in 1989. She met John A. Weber while attending Miami University in Oxford, OH and they married in 1954. During their 46-year marriage they lived in Dayton, OH, Indianapolis, IN and Holland, MI. She leaves as her legacy four children: Steve (Sue), Tim (Mary Brugh), Jim (Mary Beth), and Alene (Cris) and also leaves sixteen grandchildren to cherish her memory: Andrew, Emily, Christopher, Kelci, Madeline, Web, Delaney, Mary Grace, Hank, Johnny, Eli, Crisman, Mary Braden, Amy, Ashley, and Will.

She is also survived by her brother, Allen Pearce.

She was preceded in death by Johnny Weber (infant son), John A. Weber, (husband), and Floyd and Ruth Pearce, (parents).

Her children remember her as a loving Mother and Grandmother who was very present in their lives and thought that all of them were nothing short of perfection!

Mary Jane was an active volunteer and homemaker. Delivering advertising in Indianapolis to help support her children’s education, she also worked as an administrator at Hope College in Holland, MI. Completing her college degree in education in 1989, Mary Jane worked as a substitute teacher and volunteered teaching reading at her grandchildren’s schools.

Passionate about affecting the most positive change in people her loving spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
