It is with great sadness that the family of Leif Jacobsen announces his passing at Sarasota Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.

Leif was born and raised in Douglaston, New York. He is survived by his wife, Anna-May, daughters Kirsten Sibilia (Patrick), Keely Loveys (Ralph) and Kim Hollenkamp and sisters Greta Jacobsen and Karen Smith. He was the grandfather to five grandsons, Nicholas Hollenkamp, Django Sibilia, Eric Hollenkamp, Wyatt Sibilia, and Braydon Petitt and three granddaughters, Katie Hollenkamp, Caroline Hollenkamp, and Chloe Petitt. He was the uncle to seven nieces and nephews.

Leif was a graduate of P.S. 98, Douglaston, NY (1950), Trinity High School, NY, NY (1954) and Hope College, Holland, MI (1960). He served in the US Navy from 1955-1957. Leif was a proud Norwegian who devoted his life to giving back and serving others. He was a member of Hilltop Presbyterian Church (Mendham, NJ), Westminster Presbyterian Church (Dayton, Ohio) and First Presbyterian Church (Sarasota, Florida) where he was an elder and Sunday school teacher over the past 35 years. He volunteered at Score and Mote Marine Aquarium in Sarasota. He was active in Rotary in Dayton and was President of the Sarasota Sunrise Rotary Club. He was currently serving on the Board of Directors at Camelot Lakes Village. Leif had a deep love for his family and friends and was very compassionate about wooden boats and classic cars. Leif loved to spread joy with everyone he interacted through his storytelling and laughter. He will be dearly missed by all.
