Mary VanRegenmorter ’71 Welton

Mary Judith Welton born May 25, 1939, in Muskegon, to Leonard and Bonnie VanRegenmorterMary passed away in Holland surrounded by her family on Jan. 19, 2018.

Mary was a loved member of the Holland community who was well known for opening her heart, humor and home to not only friends of her children but also others in need. She was a model of unconditional love, unbridled wit and non-judgmental realism. Marygraduated from Hope College. She devoted most of her time to raising her children and grandchildren and she enjoyed interacting with the community in her roles over the years as an educator, day care provider, reporter, bookkeeper and sales associate. She loved reading, traveling, live music, practical jokes, politics (hers) and pets.

She is survived by her children Dee Dee Torres (Drew Torres), Darcy Komejan (Bill Fluharty), Courtney VanLonkhuyzen Welton,and David Rausch (Deborah Rausch); her grandchildren Andrea Torres, Alex Torres(Marley Borovich-Torres), Aaron Torres, Mary Komejan, Luka Hyde, Brecken VanLonkhuyzen, Casen VanLonkhuyzen; andgreat grandchildren Eleanor Komejan and Andrew Ty Torres; and her siblings

Patsy VanRegenmorter and Richard VanRegenmorter (Elva VanRegenmorter) and many other extended family and dear friends.
