Irene Lundie ’45 Rypstra

Irene Lundie Rypstra (1923-2017) of Hamilton, OH passed away on October 27, 2017. Irene is survived by her daughter, Ann L. Rypstra of Oxford, OH, and her brother and sister-in-law, Watson and Sandra Lundie, long-term residents of Holland, MI that recently relocated to Grand Rapids. She also has many nieces and nephews spread around the country. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred H. Rypstra, her son, Brehm L. Rypstra, a brother, William Lundie, and a sister, Elaine (Lundie) Brinkman. Irene grew up in Holland, MI and graduated from Hope College, where she was instilled with a lifelong interest in history and literature. She spent most of her life in the Grand Rapids area, where she was a committed and engaged member of Hope Reformed Church for most of its existence. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park or the Western Theological Seminary, Holland, MI.
