Nancy Sward ’89 D’Angelo

Nancy Sward ’89 D’Angelo, age 48, a  resident of Naperville, IL since 1999, formerly of Skokie, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 24, 2016.

She was born October 26, 1967 in Chicago, IL. Beloved mother of John F. and Isabel S. D’Angelo, loving daughter of John and Mary Sward, adored sister of Karen (Kenneth) Skillender of Pittstown, NJ, David (Zeba) Sward of Buffalo Grove, IL, Diane Sward of Skokie, IL and Joseph Sward of Washington, D.C., fond aunt of Kelly and Kevin Skillender; Athena, Rheya and Avi Sward; Johanna and Zac Sward, Evelyn, Lila and Dominic D’Angelo and Olivia, Mark and Benjamin Ruehlen, former spouse of Scott L. D’Angelo, dear friend of many.

Nancy grew up in Skokie, was a graduate of Niles North High School (Class of 1985) and received her bachelor’s degree from Hope College in Holland, MI with a major in social work and a minor in art. She went on to earn a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Loyola University in Chicago and was employed by Lutheran Social Services in Oak Park, IL for many years. Most recently, Nancy worked for LPE Clay studio in Naperville and as a caseworker for Midwest Adoption Center in Des Plaines, IL.
