Margo Meengs ’62 Johnson

Margo Meengs ’62 Johnson, 76, transitioned into her new life in heaven on Oct. 19, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born and raised in Holland and graduated from Holland Public Schools and Hope College. Margo was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 54 years. She was a teacher and homemaker.

She loved all of God’s creatures and the beauty of His nature. She especially loved gardening.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 55 years, Doug Johnson ’62; and her son, Mathew of Wyoming; and granddaughter, Megan; daughter, Cathy Johnson ’89 Blackburn and her husband Tim of Holland; and grandchildren, Abbigale, Noah and Sophia all of whom she deeply loved; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, David; parents, Bill ’27 & Jessie Meengs of Holland; and brother, Bill Meengs ’58 of Newago.
