Lawrence Cain ’67

Lawrence Cain ’67 , age 72, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016, at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX where he had been receiving treatment for Leukemia since June 23, 2016.

Larry was born July 31, 1944, in Chicago, IL to Merle Belmont Cain and Doris Viola Johnson Cain. He graduated from Hope College in 1967, and obtained an MBA from Western Michigan University in 1968. His career was spent in marketing for major companies and, until recently, he was a consultant to a technology company.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Laura Lynn Manasek ’67 Cain; his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and John Gray, grandchildren, Hunter and Alexandra, of Bellbrook, OH; his son and fiancee, Jason Cain and Sarah Wells of Middleton, WI; his son, Adam Cain of Boulder, CO; and his brother and sister-in-law, Randy (Linda Dalton ’72) Cain ’72 of Boulder, CO. Larry and his wife resided in North Venice, FL since 2012. He had a quiet, but strong faith. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend who loved travel, golf, and most of all his family.
