Dani Nowicki ’16

Dani Nowicki ’16 is the physical education
teacher and elementary librarian at Saipan
Community School in the Mariana Islands.
Saipan, which is a U.S. commonwealth and was
struck by Typhoon Yutu on Oct. 25. Although
Dani’s home sustained minimal damage, the
Category-Five storm left an estimated 10,000
homeless out of the total population of about
52,000. The entire school was devastated,
including with the library sustaining extensive
water damage that has led to holes in the walls,
and the physical education storage building
losing its roof.
