This fall, Hope College dedicated the press box at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium in honor of Tom Renner ’67 and Carole DeYoung ’67 Renner, and honored the couple during the H-Club Coaches’ Luncheon on Monday, Oct. 24. Tom served Hope for 47 years before retiring in 2013. He was associate vice president for public and community relations, and his work included publicity and photography for the college’s varsity athletic teams. He also was the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association publicist and statistician from 1967 to 2008. Carole was actively engaged with Tom’s work, both at home and at events—as were the couple’s four children (Deb, Susie, Daniel and ReBecca), all of whom attended Hope. Tom and Carole are pictured with their children, children-in-law and grandchildren beneath the press box.
